Meet the Mastermind Behind This All: The Source
Even if you have heard of me, you probably don't know anything about me in the context of Mastermind groups. But since the 1990s, I've run one of the most successful Mastermind groups in existence, so let me give you a little background on why I feel like I can help you learn about the concept.
I'm Randy Cassingham, and I have run several online businesses, most very successfully, starting in the "dark ages" of the Internet -- 1994. I "invented" my business niche -- e-mail publishing -- though years later I discovered I wasn't the first one to do that. But back then, I didn't know anyone I could turn to for help in developing my ideas and to be more successful.
When I started, I had a Day Job at an awfully cool place to work (NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory), but my colleagues there weren't quite the people I needed to talk to about running a business. They all worked for someone else for a living; they didn't really understand the needs and problems of entrepreneurs. Plus, they really didn't know anything about doing business online: in 1994 it really was a brand new world, and the first people doing business here were pioneering how online business was done. Yeah, I needed people to talk to, but what I really needed were people who were like me: people working online. So in early 1996 I turned to some of the new friends I was making online and formed my first Mastermind group.
It was a very informal group, and it was certainly helpful -- for awhile. But it ultimately failed. I'll talk about why it failed in one of the "home study" articles. But it made me realize I needed a larger, more formal group, with people from more diverse backgrounds and varying business models so that we could all help each other succeed.
That group was formed on March 1, 1999 -- and today, so many years later, it's still going strong. It's unusual for a group to still be working well after more than a decade. There were challenges along the way -- some small, some huge -- but I developed strategies to make it work. And work it has: my group has helped its members make untold millions of dollars that they would have otherwise "left on the table".
And I'm serious: many millions of dollars of increased revenue. In fact, I have watched not one, not two, but many members go from "doing ok" (or worse: doing terrible!) and -- once they engage with the group and truly listen and learn -- get an "ah ha!" moment and quickly begin to thrive. And I really do mean quickly: in one case, it happened in hours. It's wonderful to watch someone go from "I think I need to go back to a Day Job" to, literally, getting rich. And my group has done that for quite a few of its members.
More typically, members have gone from "doing fine" to "doing great!" Sometimes overnight, and sometimes after putting some new strategies to work over time.
A good group is powerful like that. It can propel its members to huge success. A bad group will just suck up time and energy and focus, and therefore hurt your business or career.
Thus, the key is learning how to join -- or create -- a group that's not simply "good", but excellent so that you can accomplish what you know you can do. That's where I come in: I can help you create a more successful group so you can get the same sort of help with your business or career.
And you don't have to have an online business, either: the techniques and strategies I've developed work for "Masterminding" success: the type of business you have doesn't really matter, and over time you'll learn why that is.
Any Kind of Business
Now, you should know I don't have "theories" on how to do this: I've proven I can do it -- I've been doing it since 1996. My group's members have become hugely successful -- and so have I -- because of what I created. They're definitely not all in the same business as I am: in fact, perhaps none of the current members would identify themselves as an "e-mail publisher". But we all have one thing in common: in my group's case, we all do business online. (One of the articles in the e-mail series will explain why it's important for group members to have something in common.) And because of this networking, their businesses -- and lives -- have been improved beyond measure, allowing their wildest dreams to come true.
And that's why I created this site. I don't believe there's a finite amount of success in the world -- that if someone has success, someone else will lack it. It's not a matter of "luck", either: I believe with the right knowledge and some hard work, anyone can be more successful than they are now.
And how do you get that knowledge? How is that work encouraged? How can you develop new ideas to practically guarantee more success? All of it can come from a Mastermind group -- if it's a good one. I know how to create that. And I want to help you get it, just like I -- and the members of my group -- got that help. I'm going to tell you my secrets!
All that will take some time for me to explain -- and some time and attention on your part to get it.
So if you haven't signed up for the mailing list to get the "Home Study" course on creating Mastermind groups, I highly encourage you to do so. Those articles are not published on this site!
